Alexandra J. Lansky, MD, FACC is associate professor of clinical medicine in the Division of Cardiology at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Dr Lansky obtained her medical degree at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia and completed her residency in internal medicine at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC and fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC.

She is the medical director of HeartHealthyWomen.org Web site, the source for gender specific heart health information, sponsored by the Department of Health and Human Services. She has published many gender-specific papers, and was the lead author of the AHA Statement for Healthcare Professionals on Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and Adjunctive Pharmacotherapy in Women.

Dr Lansky is currently a council member of the National Lipid Education Council and the American Heart Association Clinical Council. She has been principal investigator on numerous angiographic core laboratory studies and other clinical studies. Dr Lansky is currently on the editorial board of the International Journal of Cardiovascular Interventions and the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. She is the editor of Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions, The Journal of Invasive Cardiology, and Cardiovascular Radiation Medicine. She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
